Ecobank - Bamako, Mali

Ecobank ATM machines in Bamako are frequently out of cash and/or do not print receipts. A bank worker should be checking their ATM machines several times throughout the day. It is not unusual to go to 3-4 Ecobank ATM's before locating one that actually works and has sufficient cash to dispense, as well as sufficient paper to print receipts. in addition to monitoring the transactions. I have been charged incorrectly at the ATM's as have some colleagues. Sometimes the machine does not dispense the money because it is out of cash, but it still charges your card and you cannot print a receipt because the machine is out of ink or paper. That tells me no one is double checking the machines' transactions for mistakes each day. It was easier to stop using Ecobank in the end because of the many frustrations one has to endure to be one of their customerrs. It just was not worth all the effort!

The main office seems to be very professional in my opinion. However, on a whole I have not found Ecobank to be a legitimate banking institution compared to other banks worldwide.
