MBSA is a private company that specializes in providing sustainable biodiesel processing units in West Africa. By integrating Jatropha into existing agricultural production systems, MBSA facilitates sustainable development in the regions of Mali and Burkina Faso. It works with over 8,000 small farmers to meet the growing demand for vegetable oil in Mali, which is estimated to reach 5,360 tons per month in 2020 and 6,840 tons per month in 2030. MBSA plans to capture 6% of this market by selling 300 tons per month in 2020. To support and expand its business, over 80% of MBSA's revenues will come from specialty oils. These oils consistently meet or exceed European quality standards, and are 15% cheaper than imported vegetable oils. As a result, MBSA helps smallholder farmers increase their gross household income by more than 30%.
